This tamper has nice overall heft and feels good in the hand. Fits my Gaggia Classic filter basket like a glove. The tamping face has a very slight convexity to it. The finish isn't mirror smooth (ie it has character) but it is decent. The tamper works great and feels good. A nice upgrade from the plastic guys that Gaggia throws in with their machines. A good value.
