Description:

This is the newest Rancilio Silvia espresso machine that we are dubbing V3, for Version 3. This new model will sport a multi-directional steam wand, a commercial grade filter handle, and a new steam valve with new knob. Your credit card will not be charged until the unit is ready for shipping.

All Retail purchases of Silvia Espresso Machines will include a 1st-line exclusive instructional CD, specifically designed for the Silvia V3!

Features:

  • NEWEST FEATURE! Our Silvias now have a plastic guide around the steam wand knob so the metal body does not cut into the knob.
  • Silvias no longer have the 3-Hole Tip. Rancilio has done away with them and will not be making the tips separately either. They said their testing revealed that the 1-hole tip performs better given the boiler size. Ill be changing my product description today.
  • NEWEST FEATURE! The overpressure valve is now adjustable on our latest batch of Silvias. you can adjust the amount of excess water pressure by bringing out the OPV and tightening the nut. We recommend doing this with the V512 pressure gauge.
  • HOT ITEM! Optional Stainless Steel Base, exclusively for Miss Silvia, is great to hold accessories in one draw and use the other draw as a knockout box to knockout the old grinds from the portafilter handle!
  • To avoid burning oneself, our current batch of Silvias are equipped with a rubber protector on the steam wand!
  • Same reliable internal components of the Rialto/Audrey (rear view with body panels off)
  • Boiler (front view) , grouphead (dispenser), steam nozzle, steam valve , and chrome filter holder constructed of press forged marine brass
  • Three thermostats - coffee, steam, and safety thermostats unlike many other espresso machines which just have two thermostats!
  • Three way solenoid valve - this valve opens after you depress the coffee switch to stop brewing, and it allows the excess water pressure in the grouphead and portafilter to exit to the drip tray. This is why you may sometimes find water in the drip tray after brewing.
  • Powerful 41 watt electro-magnetic pump
  • Visible light for brewing and steaming
  • Separate switch for hot water supply
  • Body and control panel made of beautiful satin stainless steel finish which is easy to clean and mounted on a strong, iron frame
  • Includes one (1) chrome-plated, commercial-sized portafilter, 1-cup and 2-cup filter b

5 out of 5 stars Simple, sturdy, and adaptable machine 06/28/2009
Reviewer: Terrence Dorsey   (2) from Bronx, NY US
We purchased this machine from 1st-line about 18 months ago and couldn't be happier. Miss Silvia arrives ready to work. The controls are straightforward and easy to operate. The whole unit is solidly built and, after more than a year of daily use, still looks practically new. We also purchased the ESE pod adapter and have used Miss Silvia both with pods and with traditional beans. While grinding and tamping does give the best results (with a bit more work and mess), the right pods (I like Lucaffe) and consistent technique (temp and extraction still matter) can give a very good cup. I expect we'll still be enjoying Miss Silvia many years down the road.

5 out of 5 stars Even for a beginner, you'll love it! 06/23/2009
Reviewer: Bryan Dickinson   (2) from Berkeley, CA US
This was the first espresso machine I purchased, and the learning curve is a steep! I really enjoy learning how to make espresso on a "real" machine without the crutch of a pressurized portafilter, etc. It looks great on the counter, and most importantly, performs beautifully. I will be using this for a long time, I am sure!

5 out of 5 stars A quality machine thats built like a tank! 01/10/2009
Reviewer: Jonathan Brito   (2) from Narragansett, RI US
This isn't one of those espresso machines you can find at your local department store that you can lift up with one hand. This is a quality machine that you can use for years to come. After visiting the malls, I realized I got a great bargain here on 1st-line. This unit is almost entirely made of metal, something you don't even see in the very expensive ($1000+) units out there. Minus the handle, the water reservoir, and the water reservoir's cover, its all METAL consisting of a very high quality metal construction. The handle of the espresso maker is also very heavy and sturdy that won't break after years worth of uses. Definitely purchase this machine, but remember, you need to get a quality grinder. I made the mistake of buying pre-ground espresso while my grinder was shipped. BAD! I use the Kitchenaid Proline burr coffee grinder ($200) and it works great with the Rancilio Silvia!

5 out of 5 stars My Silvia is in for the long haul 11/11/2008
Reviewer: Jeffrey Spahn   (2) from Dubuque, IA US
I have had this Ms. Silvia for about 7 years now. Has it had problems? No. I have replaced a steam control knob, but that is because I hit something against it and broke it. I also lost a part to the portafilter, so that doesn't count. This thing is a tank. It is used several times per day, runs flawlessly and looks as good as it did when I bought it. Get one, they are worth the money and built to last.

5 out of 5 stars I love my Silvia 11/01/2008
Reviewer: Jason Dworman   (2) from San Diego, CA US
I've had my machine for over 5 years. The only days it doesn't get used are when I'm out of town. This is my first machine and I am very pleased with it's performance. The machine has not lost a beat over the 5 years. I've even left it on all day more than once. Enjoy!!!
