Have always enjoyed Lavazza until I tried a bag of Segafredo Massimo. Very smooth, great crema and seems more consistent than my former favorite.

Great coffee for full-auto machines. Makes great coffee, espresso, and mix-in shots. Easily on the same scale as Illy, but a bit different. Segafredo is always in my rotation of beans!

This medium-bodied to full-bodied espresso is fantastic. It works extremely well in a full-automatic machine, grinding well, leaving no mess, and brewing a perfect cup with a great head of crema. We had this in Europe recently, and it's just as great at home! For the price 1st-line offers, and considering that this stuff will cost you several Euro per cup in coffee shops all over Europe, I will be buying a lot of this!

I bought a bag of this after reading Kenneth David's review on coffeereview.com, and subsequent banter on goffeegeek.com. I normally pull various home-roasted blends, and pre-roasted blends such as Ambrosia, Dolce, Barrington Gold, Black Cat, etc. This bag of Massimo was very stale, and I threw almost all of it away. There is something nice about the initial taste of the blend, however, that piqued my interest in trying it fresh, before it ended with a harsh, stale, rinse your mouth out with soap, kind of finish. I don't believe it's fair to blame 1st-Line, however. They do a great job with filling orders, shipping, customer service, etc. With this order, I expected the coffee to be stale, and it was. I really have no complaints.

I would love to taste this coffee within three or four days of it being roasted as I would hope and expect it to be great. The KG bag I received was brutal. I couldn't drink it... wish I could say otherwise. I expect it was too old and past it's drinkable phase for espresso. I would hasten to add that it would be too far gone for drip or press also. Save yourself the money and buy from a good roaster that is local or can ship on or within a day of it being roasted. Even better, buy green and roast your own! :)
